Working the overnight shift means eating cake and watching “Ridiculousness” at 5 a.m.

Friend's Boyfriend: I'm watching "Ferris Bueller's Day Off". I've never seen this before.
Best friend: What is wrong with you?
Me: What is wrong with YOU?! This is the type of thing you screen for while dating.

"India"ns

chiefrt:

So, Columbus called the Natives in the Caribbean “Indians” because he thought he hit India. We still identify ourselves as Indians? I think that should be something that all Native communities should work on changing that label.

No guys, I need to stop and talk about something in this movie and how fucking revolutionary it was; something that I haven’t seen in a movie before or since.

This is a movie about a kid who leaves her birth family.

Not a kid who find that they have a secret lineage or something that allows them to find their ‘true family’ - this is a movie about a kid whose true birth family is made up of bad people. So she gets out. And that is played as the right thing to do. She isn’t punished for it or made to feel bad about ‘abandoning her family’. There isn’t an underlying ‘but they’re your family and you have to love them’ or ‘they’re your family and they love you even if they don’t show it well or do hurtful things’ message of the kind that I see OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER in media. Matilda gets out and lives happily ever after because of it.

We need a million more movies like this to counter the metric shit ton of movies that directly counter this message.

These are the things I want from Target..it sucks even more looking at my bookmarks knowing i have to put all of this on hold even more..

but its gonna happen…right?!

I never have asked for much of anything and I’ve always been blessed before so i know the next one is coming from around the corner.

who knows, maybe a Target person will appear at my door with boxes topped with glitter and bows and tells me it’s a present and a little pick me up from Target for me just being me and working hard..

It’s always been a go to because its the only pain I could ever control…but i can control not going to it either..I know that I can

My ideal HIMYM ending

Ted: And that kids is how met your mother.
Penny: That was sweet dad.
Luke: Yeah that was a pretty nice story.
Ted: I'm glad you liked it, 'cause I know I certain- oh wow is that the time? I gotta go. See you guys soon. Love you! (Exits)
Penny: Oh my god...
Luke: I thought it was never going to end!
Penny: I know right? Why was it so long?
(Enter Tracy, off camera)
Tracy: Hi kids. Where's your dad gone?
Penny: He had to go and catch his train.
Tracy: His train... Huh. Hey, did I ever tell you guys the story of how I met your father?
Penny/Luke: (screaming) NO!!
